Until 1987, underground cables were typically installed using the pulling method, until Plumettaz S.A. revolutionized the process with their patented blowing systems. They invented the technology that allows cables to be pushed through ducts using air or water, enabling the installation of cables over longer distances with less manual effort. This leadership has been maintained to this day, and the company continues to successfully innovate.

Currently, the microcable blowing equipment OptiJet™ from Plumettaz S.A. (Switzerland) is the most sought-after and widely used tool for deploying FTTH (Fiber to the Home) networks. It is used to blow microcables with a diameter of Ø 1.5 to 8 mm into ducts with an external diameter ranging from 3 to 16 mm. The equipment is available in three versions: OptiJet™, OptiJet™ Reporting, and OptiJet™ Automatic. The OptiJet™ Reporting version allows the recording of physical parameters during the microcable installation process, while the latest OptiJet™ Automatic version automatically controls the supply of compressed air.
